Jefferson West Preschool
Jeff West Preschool is a part of Keystone Learning Services. Keystone operates four integrated preschool classrooms for children with disabilities and includes a limited number of peers without disabilities. These classrooms serve children with disabilities ages 3-5 within a variety of settings. Peer model applications are accepted throughout the school year for the following school year.
Our Philosophy: We believe as an early childhood staff working together with children with disabilities and their families, that given the opportunities, they will be able to reach their potential to live the highest possible quality of life. We believe that families are the center of the child's life; that each child can establish a lifelong love of learning; that children learn best in natural, positive environments through play, making choices and through interaction with their peers; that each child is a unique individual with strengths and potential for growth.
One program component in each classroom focuses upon promoting children's positive social emotional and language/communication development as presented in the LEAP (Learning Experiences: an Alternative Program for Preschoolers and Parents) program. This includes social skills training, visual supports, transition routines and monitoring skills.
