This Week at Preschool
This week the children finished their study of the book "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom". We loved watching the movie on Wednesday and listening to other books such as "Chicka Chicka 1,2,3" and "It Looked Like Spilt Milk". We were able to get outside to play even though things were a little wet. This is the time of year that our little ones really need to run off some steam! We continued counting coconuts, matching coconuts by their beginning sound, making peanut butter and jelly counting sandwiches, finding things starting like Iguana and more in our work boxes. The doll house center and the sand center were definitely the most popular centers this week. This week seemed like it flew by!
Notes & Reminders
*Just a reminder that all library books need to be turned in on Monday. We have a few still out.
*We will be sending home the extra clothes which have been in their cubbies on Wednesday.
*Our preschool graduation/play day will be on Thursday of next week.
*Please let us know if children who typically ride the school van will be riding home with someone else. We don't want Kathy to make an unnecessary trip to the elementary if we don't have children for her to pick up.

Keep Them Learning
This summer is a great opportunity for parents to take over their child's instruction for a couple of months. Great ways to do this are to talk about the color of flowers, the number of different colors, the number of garden plants coming up. While you are in the garden, marking the rows with wooden spoons or Popsicle sticks with the name of the plant will encourage letter recognition. In the pool, children can make the letter T and I with their bodies and learn about different shapes in and around the pool.
